Deuter Aircontact Lite 45+10 SL hiking bag

The Aircontact Lite 45+10 SL is equipped with the Air contact system which promotes back breathing. The back cushions are made of a special breathable functional foam with hollow compartments.
The parallel arrangement of the cushions in the Aircontact Lite range creates an additional ventilation channel.

Technologies used:

Air contact Lite System

• Adjustment straps allow exact positioning of the bag on the back. Thanks to a special "triglide" buckle, the position of the adjustment strap on the shoulder strap can be slightly offset. On Aircontact models from 50+10 SL, two attachment points placed at different heights make it possible to obtain the optimal angle of position adjustment straps when adjusting to back length.

• The ergonomic stabilizers on the hips are made of several layers. For better carrying comfort, the inner layer is made of soft foam covered with 3D AirMesh mesh. The stiffer foam outer layer maintains the ergonomic shape and shifts the load to the hips. Lateral compression straps on the stabilizers regulate load transfer and increase stability. On ACT Lite stabilizers, this bi-laminate construction is optimized to combine weight reduction and load distribution. Aircontact models designed for heavier loads optimize stability and load transfer thanks to polyethylene reinforcement between the foam layers.

• Ergonomic X frame made of crossed aluminum frames. This system, both flexible and stable, reacts to every movement of the body and transfers the load to the lumbar belt.

SL Women's Fit System

• Shorter backs
• Women have on average a shorter back than men. The carrying system of the SL models is therefore designed shorter than for the standard backpacks from Deuter.
• Narrower straps
• Soft-Edge edges on both sides, smaller buckles and very narrow shoulder strap ends prevent the straps from chafing at the armpits or compressing the chest. Also, the shoulder straps are closer together, to prevent them from slipping.
• Conical hip stabilizers.
• To perfectly fit the female hips, with their characteristic curve, the lumbar belt, once closed, must be conical in shape.
• This taper is obtained by the upward inclination of the opening point and the curved shape of the SL stabilizers arranged at hip level.
• The seat of the backpack is oriented towards the average sporty build. Not everyone conforms to the norm, so female models can be suitable for men, and vice versa. Specifically for larger volume backpacks, the seat must be perfect. If the original Vari-Quick shoulder straps are therefore not suitable, they can be exchanged for SL shoulder straps on standard backpacks and baby carriers from Deuter, all in a jiffy. Conversely, SL suspenders can be exchanged for standard Vari-Quick suspenders, which are more suitable for larger builds.
