The AvaLung Element security system:
It extracts fresh air from the surrounding snowpack and redirects exhaled CO2 away from the inhalation zone.
This device can increase up to four times the reserve of usable air under the snow.
• Allows a person buried in an avalanche to breathe fresh air directly from the snowpack
• Bivalve-inspired housing extracts air from the surrounding snowpack
• Mouthpiece delivers fresh air through bivalve housing and exhausts CO2 through exhalation conduit
• Completely removable without tools for 4 season use
Principle of operation of the AvaLung Element: 
A: The AvaLung mouthpiece provides fresh air extracted from the snowpack through the bivalve-inspired housing
B: exhaled CO2 is redirected away from the body through an integrated exhalation conduit
C: AvaLung mouthpiece and tube store in zippered pocket when not in use
D: simple and safe, the attachment system is easily installed and removed on AvaLung-Ready bags without special tools
