North Cliff snowshoes were designed in collaboration with the Canadian manufacturer Faber & Cie.
Manufactured since 1870 by 5 generations of an Amerindian family, these snowshoes combine innovation and performance.
North Cliff snowshoes have been manufactured with the patented WTD traction wing sieve and assembled on an aluminum frame with a curved tail reducing drag and making every step easier. The frame is coated with baked powder paint to prevent ice formation.
The QUATTRO 3ZE harness with three Zenith buckles as well as the rotating sport pivot suspended at the front allow optimal comfort and reduce efforts when walking.
The front sport pivot and blocker are made of high carbon steel and 40% lighter than stainless steel. This pivot guarantees total control of the racquet and is ideal for both groomers and off-trail.
The screen of this snowshoe is made of copolymer resistant to impacts at low temperatures (-40°C) and treated against U.V. rays.
The front (11cm) and rear (12cm) aluminum studs provide very good traction in rough terrain.
The 3-position adjustable climbing wedge reduces muscle stress during ascent in addition to increasing traction. The wedge integrated into the sole is very easy to activate.
FRAME
• U-shape
• Aluminum
• Open
- facilitated approach
- Lighter
- Reduces dragging effect
- Better traction
- Center of gravity positioned forward
SIEVE
The "WTD" traction wing screen is the latest innovation from the manufacturer. Made of copolymer resistant to impacts at low temperatures, this head is assembled on a U-frame offering a lighter, more durable and better performing racquet. The copolymer is treated to withstand temperatures of -40°C as well as UV rays. Assembled on an open aluminum frame, the WTD sieve creates wings providing optimal traction as well as oriented holes for the evacuation of snow. The torsion of each wing provides better racquet stiffness compared to a standard frame. In addition, this open tail design allows the racket to adapt to uneven terrain and reduces the holding effect when walking.
PIVOT
Sport pivot on steel rod with rotation limiter, made of high carbon steel (2 times stronger and 40% lighter than stainless steel).
- Attachment point on 2 rivets
- Lighter
- Precise and robust assembly
- Rotation limited to 70 degrees to avoid contact of the racket with the shins and to facilitate walking backwards and jumping obstacles
- Walking lightened by the partial lifting of the snowshoe and the unloading of the snow
- Minimum bearing to get out of the snow footprint
- Good lateral control, heel kept in the center of the racket
- Suspension ensuring adequate flexibility for ankle comfort
- Improves stud traction

Essais Raquettes
