Stands are an important element of any winter sports equipment.
They have a significant impact on pleasure, performance and safety during the race, whatever the style.
Consequently, it is important to choose your sticks carefully.
Basically, the stick is much more important in cross -country skiing than in alpine skiing.
Why: because it is continuously used as a push and must also be stable during "emergency braking".
It is important to use a stable and light stick, which is either in hardened aluminum (a variety of aluminum also used in aeronautical construction), or in composite materials with a carbon content which provides stiffness accordingly.
The handle must have an ergonomic shape to ensure good handling of the stick. The strap must provide a reliable support function and a perfect adjustment without pressure points.
The Trigger Shark Grip handle gives an optimal power transfer for Nordic skiing and a detachment of the comfortable and fast clip.
Utilisation: ski de fond classique ou skating
It is not possible to use the same sticks for skating and classic cross -country skiing!
In order to increase the thrust, as a rule, skating sticks are about 10 cm longer than the corresponding conventional sticks.
With longer sticks, it is also possible to exert a large push back when starting.
Classic sticks are generally too short for skating.
It is advisable to have two pairs of sticks of different lengths to alternate according to Nordic practice.
Technologies:
• Construction en carbone
Carbon fibers are the result of the carbonization of synthetic polymer fibers or organic substances.
The result is a composite of fibers significantly finer than a human hair.
Carbon fiber tubes feature extremely high stiffness and bending strength at very low weight.
Carbon fibers are woven and bonded with resin components.
Leki's carbon tubes are manufactured using pre-impregnation technology. This technology consists of cutting impregnated fabrics before superimposing them in layers
specially structured. After curing in the oven, during which the resin components react with each other and the carbon fibers bond to form a strong matrix,
the cores are removed.
The layered structure of the different carbon fabrics is decisive for the rigidity of the carbon tube.
The quality of the raw material is also decisive for the quality of the tube.
Leki works with different types of carbon. HM Carbon features maximum carbon fiber content, while fiberglass content is used for entry-level poles.
These tubes containing fiberglass are so-called carbon composite tubes.
There are different constructions which differ in the proportion of glass fibers.
HRC (HIGHEST RACING CARBON)
- Weight per meter: from 55 g/m
- Used in high-end pole models
PRC (PERFORMANCE RACING CARBON)
- Weight per meter: from 66 g/m
- Different versions are available
CC (CARBON COMPOSITE)
- Weight per meter: from 75 g/m
- Used in entry-level models
The benefits of carbon:
- Very light material
- Maximum rigidity for minimum weight
- Greater rigidity than aluminum for a tube of the same diameter
- Optimal pendulum movement during dynamic movements
- Numerous construction possibilities with different fiber and laminated structure technologies
The materials used for tubes of cross -country ski sticks:
• Bâtons à longueur fixe
-Optimal power transmission
-Perfect vibratory behavior

• Shark 2.0 handle system
- Attachment and release of gauntlets in seconds
- Very simple handling, efficient connection
- No need to actively hold the handle all the time
- Maximum comfort, maximum power transfer
The LOOP device between the thumb and the index allows you to easily in the Shark handle.
By turning the thumb of the hand enclosed vertically up, you can push the red button backwards and the bottom.
If you shoot your hand simultaneously upwards, you release the fitting between the stick and the glove.

The straps are always lateral, on the left and right. They are therefore perfectly suited to the hand or wrist.
To be able to use the Nordic Shark and Shark 2.0 handle systems, you need a strap equipped with a LOOP system.
The perfect solution for cross-country skiing is the Gant-Poigné combination, in which the glove has a LOOP device integrated to clip on the handle.
• Gantelet Shark Power Trigger Strap
-Optimized adjustment: surround the hand firmly and firmly
- Large contact surface
- Continuous adjustable by self-aging tape
The size of the dragons is adapted to the length of the stick (S-M-L or M-L-XL).
• Poignée Cor-Tec
-Natural cork handle combined with flexible material
-Absorption of perspiration
-Good thermal insulation
-Comfortable handle
• Super race vario point/puck
The change of glued tips is made by heating the tip (carbon no more than 80 °).
Then remove it and put the new tip in place with a little glue.
