Design:

The Forerunner 955 and Forerunner 955 Solar watches are made up of a 45mm case with a 1.3 'color touch screen and 260 × 260 pixel resolution.

The Forerunner 955 watch is thin and light (53 g).
The fiber-reinforced polymer case houses Corning® Gorilla® glass that is ultra-resistant to shock and wear.

The 5 metal buttons facilitate interaction with the watch and navigation on the map.

The Forerunner 955 Solar features Power Glass™ that captures solar energy and extends battery life by 14% over the standard version.

Solar Technology Assembly

1 - The composite bezel protects the glass from shocks

Solar energy capture areas

Power Glass™ harvests solar energy in two main areas, but at different efficiency rates:
- Outside the screen, an opaque photovoltaic zone collects solar energy with
maximum efficiency (80% to 90%)
- The rest of the glass is equipped with Garmin's own semi-transparent photovoltaic technology. It captures solar energy over the entire surface of the screen.
