Pair the device with the Garmin Messenger™ app installed on your smartphone to send and receive text messages. In case of absence of the cellular network (mobile telephony) the inReach Messenger switches automatically to the satellite network without any interruption.

In an emergency, send an interactive SOS message to the search and rescue center.

The new TracBack routing feature takes you back to where you started by retracing your route if you get lost.

With the Garmin Messenger app, text messages with family and friends over the satellite or mobile phone network where available.

Along with the app, the beacon supports group message processing and distribution. So you can share your adventures with multiple contacts at the same time, and have group chats.

Share your location anytime on your MapShare™ page or by sending a message with your GPS coordinates. Your loved ones don't lose sight of you, even while staying at home...

DISPLAY / PREDEFINED MESSAGES

The screen displays a confirmation when you send a message, you can also read the received messages.

Briefly chat with your contacts from your inReach Messenger by sending predefined messages that are not deducted from your active satellite subscription plan.
