Petzl Grigri 2 belay device

The GRIGRI 2 belay device with assisted braking is designed to make belaying maneuvers easier. The GRIGRI 2 works just as well for lead belaying as for top-roping. It can be used on all dynamic single ropes on the market from 8.9 to 11 mm (optimized for ropes from 9.4 mm to 10.3 mm). Both compact and very light, the GRIGRI 2 will follow you for many years on cliffs all over the world. The GRIGRI 2 benefits from a new design allowing excellent control of the descent.

• Gestures identical to a classic belay system: the belay is carried out with both hands on the rope. The fall is arrested by squeezing the free end with the hand.

• Assisted braking: when the fall is arrested, the belayer holds the free end, the cam rotates and pinches the rope and thus increases braking, until the rope stops.

• The GRIGRI 2 benefits from a new design allowing excellent control of the descent. One hand holds the rope and the other hand unlocks the cam, thanks to the handle. This handle, with its patented architecture, allows for very progressive release. Combined with the strong braking of the cam, it gives the partner's descent, or abseiling, a great sense of security.

• The GRIGRI 2 is compact and very light with 185 g (25% smaller and 20% lighter than the GRIGRI).

• The construction with a braking pad, and a stainless steel cam, ensures a long life.

• For use on single ropes from 8.9 to 11 mm (optimized for ropes between 9.4 mm and 10.3 mm).

• Rope installation diagrams engraved on the belayer (inside and outside).
